SPECIAL NOTICES / ALERTS

3/5/08 - Ongoing DOT work on Rt. 44 in the vicinity of our entrance as part of the road widening project. Expect lane closures when traveling to the site from the east and watch out for construction traffic.

12/5/07 - Extensive DOT construction on RT-44 on the west side of Avon Mountain (runaway truck lane construction). Westbound travel reduced to one lane for the next few months. Expect delays.

12/1/07 - Ice on the tower can prevent a hazard when it falls. Hard Hats are required. Proceed at your own risk and delay work if at all possible until the tower is free of ice.

11/25/07 - New security lighting and improved CCTV cameras installed.

11/5/07 - Leaf composting operation on-going nearby with heavy trucks and machinery using gate shared with Marlin Tower. Use caution when entering and exiting the site.

9/24/07 - Effective 9/16/07 all trucks over 26,000 pounds are banned from Route 44 between Route 218 in West Hartford and Route 10 in Avon through 1/1/08, perhaps longer.  This does not effect local traffic to the Marlin Tower site but drivers should use caution on both sides of Avon Mountain due to stepped up traffic enforcement and DMV truck inspection activity as a result of recent truck accidents on Rt 44 in Avon.
